Where should you put all those sharp kitchen knives? Just placing them loosely in the drawer isn’t such a good idea because the risk of injury is high. A knife block is the better solution. Another space-saving option is a magnetic knife board on the wall panel. Don’t worry; the board can be fixed to the surface without needing to drill anything. This way you don’t get holes in the tiles or in any other material.
We used a remaining piece of European cherry wood for the knife board. If it isn’t the right size, simply cut it to the desired length. Magnets are used so that the knives stick to the wood. They are glued into pre-drilled holes. A Forstner bit is recommended for drilling holes the exact diameter of the magnets. Be sure not to drill all the way through.
Depending on the strength of the magnets you may need one or two in order to hold the knives. We recommend magnets with M52 quality. Weaker magnets are also an option. As in our case, it is necessary to use two per knife.
