Who isn’t familiar with it? A piece of metal has broken off on the stove. Or the towel hooks in the bathroom. What should you do? Just glue it back on. Use lots of glue – because “lots helps a lot” – and everything is back together. Except that a few minutes later the piece falls of the wall again. It’s clear whose fault it is! Shi…terrible glue.
This scenario, or something similar to it takes place umpteen times daily in Germany and around the world. You could assume that this is proof that glues are generally no good. But in reality, it is the other way around. Glues can withstand more strain than say nails or screws. But correct application is crucial.
