Book cover made of fabric
Have you ever created a book cover yourself? In this post, I will show you how to do it. With very little effort thanks to bonding instead of sewing.
Something special
When I buy a book, they way it looks plays an important role. I pay attention to nice covers. Same goes for my notebooks and book calendars. With these, I also look for special and yet robust covers, as I carry them with me every day.
Look no further
However, I often can’t find what I’m looking for when book shopping. Either the price or the quality does not meet my expectations. So I bought a cheap book calendar and then designed the book cover myself. Adhesive spray is a good alternative to elaborate sewing and it is such a fast method, too!
A great gift idea
Book calendars, notebooks or diaries are always a great gift. Especially, when they are handmade. And they are something everyone needs at the beginning of a new year. All you need for your handmade gift is some nice fabric and WEICON Adhesive Spray. Instead of normal textile fabric, you can also use wallpaper, bordure or lace.
Step by step to your individual book cover
Cut the fabric to size, so it is a little larger than the open book. Then work thoroughly and bond one surface after the other. Once WEICON Adhesive Spray sticks, it sticks. WEICON Adhesive Spray for detachable joints, on the contrary, can be used to bond maps or pictures to a wall, for example, as thanks to this special adhesive, they can be easily repositioned.
As soon as the adhesive forms glue strings, apply gentle pressure to the material. Work thoroughly, especially on the corners, turn the fabric over very tightly and smooth out all wrinkles.
