A clean car immediately makes for a better driving experience, doesn’t it? But it’s not unusual to find stains from drinks and food or dirt from clothes and shoes on car upholstery. If you also have one or more child seats in the car, you’ll know what we’re talking about. We’ll show you how cleaning the car seat is done easily- quickly and in an environmentally friendly way.
Cleaning the car seat in three steps
Getting annoying stains and dirt out of car and child seats is not rocket science. However, the right preparation is the be-all and end-all. Absolute must-haves for your project are a hoover, cleaning cloths or rags and, of course, the right cleaning product. The cleaning agent should not be too aggressive, but should still reliably clean the car seat. A well-intentioned tip for you: Please remember to wear gloves when cleaning – this will keep your hands clean and protected.
Vacuuming the car seat
Before you start cleaning the car upholstery, we recommend using a hoover to remove crumbs, dust and other dirt from the seats. Make sure you use a flat attachment so that you can get into every nook and cranny of the seats. Once the coarse dirt has been removed, you can start the application and clean the car seat.
Cleaning the car seat with WEICON Multi-Foam
We recommend our WEICON Multi-Foam for cleaning car seats. The foam is a powerful universal cleaner that not only reliably removes dirt from car upholstery and child seats, but also has another important advantage: it is environmentally neutral and biodegradable. It is also phosphate and formaldehyde-free and free from corrosive and caustic additives.
Before use, it is advisable to shake the unopened Multi-Foam briefly and thoroughly. You can then spray the cleaner on at a distance of around 25 centimetres and leave it to work on the soiled areas for around 30 seconds. As the product is suitable for both upholstery and other surfaces such as plastic, you can also spray on and clean the seat cover and seat belt buckles. A little tip: Check for colour fastness before using on textiles or upholstery.
Wipe off loose dirt
Once we have allowed the multi-foam to take effect, we can now remove it from the car or child seat. A clean, soft cloth or microfibre cloth is best suited for this. If the car upholstery is very dirty, repeat the process. Important: Allow the car upholstery to dry sufficiently after cleaning to avoid unpleasant odours.
That’s all there is to it! Regular and thorough cleaning of the car upholstery not only improves the appearance of the vehicle, but of course also helps to maintain its value. We wish you a good journey in your clean car!
