Sunbed repair
A wooden sunbed is cozy, classy and should last for a long time. That’s what my colleague Matthias thought too. Unfortunately, his old sunbed already has some flaws caused by the weather. But why buy a new one? He and his son Finn decided to repair it.
You need: a can of Cleaner Spray S, a cartridge of Epoxy Minute Adhesive, a grinding machine, wood glaze.
Step 1
At first, Matthias and Finn grinded the sunbed with a grinding machine to remove splinters and to smoothen the edges of the crack.
Step 2
Before bonding, it is necessary to clean the parts to be bonded! Only this way, you achieve full bonding power. Please keep that in mind.
Step 3
To fix the crack on the slatted frame, Matthias used Epoxy Minute Adhesive. The adhesive is shock-resistant and residual elastic and therefore the right choice for this application. Additionally, it is easy to apply the wood glaze on the cured adhesive afterwards.
The Epoxy Minute Adhesive is a „must-have“ in your toolbox. Due to the WEICON Easy-Mix System, you don’t need a dosing gun for the two-component adhesive. The dosing, mixing and application is done in just one working step.
Step 4
Matthias also fixed the broken wheel with Epoxy Minute Adhesive. To avoid bubbles and to achieve the optimal layer thickness, it is important to apply adhesive beads.
Step 5
For a nice look, Matthias and Finn used wood glaze.
Step 6
Now it’s time to relax for Finn. His dad Matthias has to continue his work in the garden.
Rescue of a beautiful watering can
My colleague Gabriele has a favourite garden piece she doesn’t want to throw away, too. The colourful watering can is not only a diligent assistant, it’s otherwise a nice decoration piece.
To fix the broken handle, Gabriele also used Epoxy Minute Adhesive. First, she cleaned the watering can with WEICON Surface Cleaner and then she applied the adhesive.
