If you don’t want to present a voucher in a simple envelope, there are many ways to pack it beautifully. We choose a 3D gift box. You can easily make this box at home, without spending too much on materials.
When choosing the motive make sure to choose something as a picture that is easy to cut out and can stand out, creating the 3D effect. It should also fit to the topic of the voucher. We gave a hotel voucher for Stuttgart as a present and chose Stuttgart Castle as a motive.
This is, of course, up to you and you can let your creativity flow into the design.
General advice: Only use the adhesive in well ventilated rooms or, if possible, outdoors. Wear gloves during the bonding process to protect your hands against contamination. Shake the spray can well before each use!
Step 1
Measure the box on all sides; also considering the lid if you want to close it (we removed the lid later).
Step 2
Print out the motive twice in the right size (!), cut to size if required. Note: The background is always attached slightly curved for a deep effect.
Step 3
After trimming the paper, apply adhesive to the side walls (inside) – First, shake the Adhesive Spray well and apply evenly onto the box at a distance of approx. 20 cm – let the glue dry until it can not be removed when touched, then fix the paper and press on.
Step 4
Attach the background motive, evenly spray the top edge of the box with adhesive from the inside and wait again until it can’t be removed. Fix the outer edge of the motive and rub down several times; repeat the process on the other side after a short time. The background is now fixed to the box on two edges, curved inwards. Decorate all other side parts with the required motive or in a single colour and cleanly trim the box lid with a Stanley knife if required.
Step 5
Cut out the object that is to be shown three-dimensionally from the second printout and build a “base” from the remaining card (lid) and a holder for the voucher. This was the well in our example. Fix in place with Adhesive Spray.
Step 6
Roll up the voucher, fix with paper clips and slide it into the holder – place the “base” on the bottom of the box so that the 3D effect is created and glue in place if required.
The result
The individually designed 3D voucher box is now finished. It is guaranteed to be well received and will certainly put your gift centre stage.
