Christmas is just four days away. Like every year, Christmas comes quickly and many are completely unprepared for it. For anyone like me, here is a decoration idea that is quick and easy to make without a lot of prep work. For a perfect – last-minute – Christmas atmosphere.
All we need are a few branches from a thuja evergreen, a large candle glass, Adhesive Spray, Surface Cleaner and of course, a candle. You can find the thuja tree either in your garden or you can purchase them inexpensively at the supermarket or flower store. The branches should be relatively clean, free from dirt or spider webs. Otherwise they may not stick to the glass.
Surface cleaning
Before gluing the greenery on, first clean the glass surface with the Surface Cleaner: Spray it onto a clean, lint-free cloth and clean the glass thoroughly. Rubber gloves prevent fingerprints from getting onto the surface.
Glue on the "greenery"
Cut the branches so that you have individual twigs that fit onto the glass. We used standard garden scissors for that.
Next, place the first twig onto a paper surface and spray the inside (thuja branches generally arch inwards) of the twig evenly with spray glue. Let dry for a few seconds and then press onto the glass. Use gloves while doing this too so that you don’t get any glue on your hands. As soon as the twig sticks, you can remove the pressure and move onto spraying the next twig.
You decide of course how many twigs you would like to stick to the glass and what the distance is between them. When you are done, simply remove any unnecessary protruding parts. You can use the garden scissors again for this.
Now simply put the candle into the glass, light it, and your home-made Christmas decoration is ready! It’s so quick to make, costs next to nothing, and looks great.
