Exquisitely varnished wood veneer
Isnt’t this model boat a real gem? For putting it together and attaching small details, one of our customers used WEICON Epoxy Minute Adhesive. The boat made of varnished wood veneer was built with great attention to detail – according to the following steps:
Instrument panel glazing
The small measuring instruments were designed on the computer and printed on thick paper true to scale. Then, metal rings were placed on the paper and filled with Epoxy Minute Adhesive bubble-free. To make it look even more like a real lens, the rings were slightly overfilled. After the adhesive had fully cured, the paper was cut to size and bonded to the wood veneer using a small drop of the adhesive.
Light-emitting surface
The navigation lights were produced the same way. For doing so, waxed paper strips were placed in the hollow space of the lights and then Epoxy Minute Adhesive was poured over the paper avoiding bubbles. After curing, the waxed paper strips could be removed without leaving residues.
Reinforcing the seats
For moulding and reinforcing the seats, leftover carbon-fibre reinforced plastic was laminated with the Epoxy Minute Adhesive. Then, the hardened surfaces were sanded down and the seat cushions were attached.
Stern tube
The stern tube for the drive shaft was also bonded with our adhesive and aligned exactly. After curing, the excess adhesive was added to the fuselage. After curing, adhesive residues were sanded off and smoothed.
Staudrucköffnungen für die Wasserkühlung
The exits for the drive shaft through the hull were bonded with our adhesive and adjusted precisely. That way, imbalance or scraping of the drive shaft is prevented. An elimination of the adhesive residues and smoothing was also necessary at this point.
Details and fittings
A model boat like the Riva Aquarama is all about its elaborate and detailed chrome fittings. For attaching the Lamborghini lettering logo, the air vents and the small spotlights, our adhesive could also be used.
Tip: Pour the Epoxy Minute Adhesive on a piece of cardboard and then apply carefully to the bonding surface using a toothpick.
A worthy place
The beautiful Riva needs to be kept in a worthy place. The shelf for this was also attached with our special adhesive.
The Riva Aquarama on the water
Since our Epoxy Minute Adhesive is waterproof, the Riva cuts a fine figure on the water – just like here on its maiden voyage on the castle pond in Moritzburg.
